There are big cities and there are really big cities. These indicated below are 10 of the really big ones. Data here does not include surrounding urban areas of these cities. If they did the largest city would be different and would encompass some 35 million people or more.
You’ll notice most of these huge cities are very old cities and none are in the United States or Canada. Many of the cities have different names from the original names of the cities when they were first starting to be populated.
