Not to be outdone by all of the aforementioned attractions is the typical shopping trip to Lancaster Pennsylvania, home of the Amish, where you can purchase handmade quilts and have lunch at an all Amish restaurant. The food is plentiful and delicious!
Moreover, your kids will become acquainted with the culture and customs of the Amish and come to appreciate and respect their way of life. They will be able to see how the Amish get around via horse and buggy or visit a typical Amish home. The quaint shops in Lancaster are filled with local crafts and treasures. Although it’s 30 miles from Hershey, it is well worth the visit.
In fact, you can purchase a combo ticket that includes Hershey Park and Dutch Wonderland, located in Lancaster. Great for families and kids 12 years of age and under, Dutch Wonderland is filled with rides, entertainment, and a host of activities you and the kids will enjoy.
